Your Commitment to Rotary
Membership in Halifax Northwest Rotary Club requires your commitment of time and money.
When a person is proposed as a candidate for membership they are assumed to have the time and resources to assist the club in fulfilling its Rotary duties locally and in other countries around the world.
The following are some of the requirements for membership:
Time:
- Attend weekly club meetings, about 1.5 hours.
Get involved in one of the many sub committees.
Become an executive board member.
Approximately 3 hours per month in attending committee meetings (often conveniently held at the hotel prior or directly after our weekly luncheon meeting).
40-60 hours annually doing club project work and attending other Rotary functions.
The club has an active social committee (it’s not all work!).
Financial:
- The annual club dues for 2009/2010 are $295.00. These are pro-rated to the month that a member joins (Rotary year runs July 1-June 30).
Luncheon expenses of $17. weekly includes the meeting and parking.
Should a Member elect not to eat lunch, there will be a $6.00 meeting fee.
Members are encouraged to donate $100 annually to the Rotary Foundation.
